Surf's up

I succumbed to the surfing craze yesterday and rented a board to try out the famous Mancora waves. As the sun set, I paddled out with a teacher-- seemingly about 16 years old...-- who helped me catch rides to the beach. It was exhaustingly fun. Aside from the thrill of surfing, my "fellow wave-catchers" were incredibly amusing. One surfed with a baseball hat on-- and miraculously never lost it. Another's personal style was keeping one knee trendily bent on his board. Just.so.cool.
