Parque Coca- Cayambe

Yesterday, a friend and I drove through the stunning reserve of Coca-Cayambe, which treated us with shinning lakes, steep volcanoes.... and incessant rain. I also went to the hot springs of Papallacta and had a hard time forcing myself to emerge from its steaming pools. The water is heated by a nearby volcano, and all the rocks in the pool are volcanic. Who ever said lava-filled mountains were a nuisance?

We met friends along the way.

Me in front of a lake locaed at 4000 metres. Blame the thin air for the weird pose?
