The gorgeous mountains surrounding Cusco are littered with equally awe-inspiring Inka remains, known as the Sacred Valley. Still visible are the terraces once used to cultivate potato and corn, high-perched temples dedicated to the sun and ancient burial holes drilled into the hills. Mix in lush vegetation, strong sun as well as the dizzying effect of altitude and gawking becomes mandatory.
